Today, for me, is a very exciting day. This marks the event that will eventually put ordinary men into space. It took a team of entrepreneurs to accomplish the goal and that is one of the main reasons why I am so excited. A spacecraft made from fabric, graphite and epoxy going mach 2.3 and 64 miles above earth - American ingenuity at it’s finest. My sons and I watched a documentary on the progress of SpaceShipOne last night on the Discovery channel. Later, we sat around the fire pit and I tried my best to tell them that they might someday fly into space and see the earth’s beauty from miles up. They might someday fly to the moon, see the stars up close or wherever their dreams may take them. To this Damon replied “then we can meet Luke Skywalker!”
Exposing Myself on a Regular Basis
“All this is flashy rhetoric about loving you. I never had a selfless thought since I was born. I am mercenary and self-seeking through and through: I want God, you, all friends, merely to serve my turn. Peace, re-assurance, pleasure, are the goals I seek, I cannot crawl one inch outside my proper skin: I talk of love -a scholar's parrot may talk Greek- But, self-imprisoned, always end where I begin." - C S Lewis
